FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

In an On-Grid system (also known as a Grid-Tied system), electricity produced from sunlight is inverted and fed directly on to the main power line and power consumption from the Grid is reduced whenever solar power is available; there is no battery storage involved. The system is designed to provide 20-50% of the power requirement for the customer resulting in a 10-50% saving in overall energy costs.

We need approximately 120 to 150 square feet of space for every 1 kW of solar panels to be installed. This may vary due to shading and presence of any obstacles in the available space.

In Pakistan, the normal payback period of grid-tied solar system ranges from around 2.5 years to 5 years. The payback period depends on multiple factors including unit cost of electricity paid by the customer, weather pattern on location, power usage patterns, rate of inflation of electricity costs, availability of Net Metering, cost of financing (in case of lease), and policy benefits applicable (such as SBP financing scheme, tax advantages, etc).

Grid-tied systems are designed to complement existing utility service providers and can lower your dependence on the grid; but the grid-tied system needs to be synchronized with an active source (such as the grid or a generator) to function.
